Tuning a drone involves adjusting "PID" values to make the drone fly smoothly without oscillating. On the KK2, this is done visually. You can scroll through the PID menu on the LCD, increase or decrease a number using the buttons, and instantly test the flight feel. This tactile feedback loop made it much easier for hobbyists to understand how PID tuning works compared to typing numbers into a computer interface.
