The Epson L3250 has a built-in waste ink pad. This pad absorbs excess ink during head cleaning cycles. Epson programs the printer to stop working after a certain number of cleans, assuming the pad is full. Even if your pad is barely used, the printer will eventually display an error like: "A printer’s ink pad is at the end of its service life. Please contact Epson Support."
