The Aether 1165 is typically configured in a "forward cockpit" arrangement. By shifting the rower’s seat slightly aft of the center of gravity, Luxor Industries achieved a weight distribution that naturally depresses the stern, allowing the bow to rise slightly during entry into hydraulics. This prevents "stomping" (the sudden deceleration of the bow when hitting a wave) and promotes a smoother ride through class III rapids.
