You cannot simply change the file extension from .rar to .pkg and expect it to work. That is like trying to turn a zipped-up suitcase into a dresser by renaming the tag. One is a container; the other is a specific set of instructions or data.

You downloaded a massive piece of macOS software (like Adobe Photoshop, Logic Pro, or a major game) from a file-sharing site. The file was split into 50 .rar parts. Inside the final extracted folder, there is an .app bundle and a .pkg installer. You aren't actually converting RAR to PKG; you are just extracting the RAR to access the PKG.

First, you need to get the files out of the RAR archive.

Inside these RAR files lies a single .pkg file. Your goal is not to change the file type, but to the PKG from the RAR container.
