The fixed-geometry turbo is small and spins at very high RPMs. On the DF049, the turbo is oil-cooled only (no water cooling). If the owner shuts off the engine immediately after a hard drive, the oil cokes in the turbo lines, leading to shaft play and eventually, failure.
