Born in 1979 in Tokyo, Japan, Rika Nishimura began her career as a photographer in the early 2000s. Her early work focused on documentary-style photography, but she soon transitioned to fine art photography, experimenting with various techniques and styles. Nishimura's big break came in 2007, when her work was featured in the prestigious Japanese photography magazine, Camera Mainichi .
